Meanings of ABSURD

Meanings of ABSURD

1-Absurd. Characterizes what has no sense, what we can't give sense (an absurd decision).

2-In the middle of the 20th century, the absurd described several intellectual and artistic currents. Albert CAMUS has defended the philosophy of the absurd. Eugene IONESCO, meanwhile, has illustrated the theater of the absurd, for example in the play the singer bald: the characters are illogical, exchanging words that could be called stereotypes or the tautologies; the action is often non-existent.

3-Proof or by the absurd reasoning is reasoning which demonstrates a proposal by proving that the negation of this proposal results in a contradiction. It is sometimes said that we demonstrate the falsity of a thesis based on the absurd consequences that are to follow if passed. Thus, to demonstrate that x is positive, we show that if x was not positive, then it would lead to an absurd result. Or even to show that something is useful, one wonders what would happen if it did not exist.
